80年代起先后二十余次深入西藏、青海、长江源头、黄河源头、甘肃等西部藏族地区进行写生及摄影创作,体验生活。近年来多次赴黄山、太行山、燕山等地写生。艺术创作在传承父亲李可染艺术精神的同时,注重研究传统并吸纳外来艺术的营养,深度的直面生活,从对生活的强烈感受中寻找自己个性化的绘画语言,在重体验的基础上重表现,形成了特出风格。美术作品多次参加国内外重大学术展览并获奖,作品被美术馆、重要机构、海内外收藏家收藏。在进行艺术创作的同时组织、策划有关李可染艺术及西藏当代艺术等一系列大型展览、学术交流等活动。作品《水墨家园》、北京、西藏、黄山等系列以鲜明的绘画语言、风格受到海内外人士的关注及好评。
Li Xiaoke is a first-class artist in China. He is a member of the China Artists Association and the China Photographers Association. Li is the committee chair of the Beijing Fine Art Academy, the deputy director of the Li Keran Art Foundation, and the director of the Huangshan Art Academy. And the director of China 0verseas Friendship Association and member of Arts Assessment Committee, Ministry of Culture.
Throughout the 1980s, Li has travelled extensively across China to sketch, photograph and seek inspiration from the surroundings. He has made over twenty visits to Tibet, Qinghai Province, the source of the Yangtze River and Yellow River, Gansu Province, as well as other Tibetan-inhabited regions in western China.In recent years, Li has traveled to the Yellow Mountain in Anhui Province, Zhangjiajie City in Hunan Province, and Yunnan Province to sketch the native landscapes. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Li is also involved in the organization of a series of large-scale exhibitions and publications of Li Keran’s artworks and other contemporary Tibetan artworks. While Li Xiaoke’s works are influenced by his father, Li Keran, a renowned Chinese painter, he focuses on the study of traditional paintings but also embraces elements of western art. Li’s work is shaped by his belief in living life in all its fullness. His unique artistic style reflects his passion for life and the surrounding world, and the notion that expressions are built upon lived-experience. Works “Soulful Homeland of Ink-Wash”series all display his distinctive painting insight and have received widespread acclaim beyond circles。
